Chapter 1
Why I Became a Barber
Hello, my friend! Can I call you that? I hope so because this
book is written with you in mind. Let me share my story
about how I became a barber a journey full of lessons,

challenges, and triumphs.
Before I picked up my first pair of clippers, I was always in
the service industry. I worked for major Fortune 500

companies like McDonald’s, Burger King, Sprint, Publix, Subway,
Winn Dixie, and even in construction. From these jobs, I
learned two very important lessons:
1) The power of marketing
2) The importance of customer service
These two skills taught me how to attract clients, keep them
coming back, and build relationships that could last for gen
generations.
Acting and Barbering: The Journey Begins
While I was still learning my craft as a barber, I had an ex
citing opportunity I acted in a Krystal Burger commercial in
Jacksonville, Florida. It was an incredible experience and

showed me how different skills can work together to shape
a career. But my real passion was barbering. Over the years,
I dedicated myself to learning everything I could about the
trade. I didn’t just focus on men’s hair; I also learned how to
style and color women’s hair. This gave me an edge and al
lowed me to offer services at the highest level.
Transforming into Mk McFly
The first 13 years as a barber were some of the toughest.
Back then, no one knew who I was, so I had to create a name
for myself. I transformed into a "Super Barber" someone
who wasn’t just great at cutting hair but also an expert at
being seen and remembered. That’s when Mk McFly was
born a fun, heroic persona that helped me stand out in a

competitive industry. I realized that success as a barber wasn’t
just about the haircut. It was about transforming people’s
lives. A great haircut can give someone the confidence to
land a job, get married, stand out at a club, or even pursue
their dreams of becoming an NBA or NFL star.
The Bigger Picture
Becoming a barber has allowed me to support my family,
give to charity, and build a career that I’m proud of. It’s proof
that this profession can pay your bills, provide for your loved
ones, and open doors to endless opportunities.
